श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अरण्यकाण्डे नवमस्सर्गः (२४व श्लोकमु) SeetaDevi told a moral-story to ShriRaama with the anxiety that ShriRaama should perfectly follow Kshatriya dharma (His Varna-dharma) as well as Tapasvi dharma (prescribed by His step-mother Kaikeyi), though the two dharmas are, in spirit, contradictory to each other. After telling this moral story, SeetaDevi spoke this beautiful shloka: “Out of…

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे त्रयोदशोत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (१९ श्लोक) This shloka means that Bharat again and again performed namaskars along with pradakshinas to the great Bharadwaja maharshi. From Bharata we must learn how obedient one should be towards Gurus.

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे एकादशोत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (२ श्लोक) “Every human will have three Gurus: mother, father (because they gave birth and nourished you) and Aacharya (because he gives gnyaanam). (hence they must be served relentlessly with utmost respect)” told the great Brahmarshi Vasishtha to ShriRaama.

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे चतुरुत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (१८ श्लोक) Declaring that His father Dasharatha indeed has the authority of sending Him to exile, ShriRaama spoke these dharmic words to Bharata: “O Bharata! A Guru has the authority to command his Shishya. Hence a Dharma-patni, progeny, and a student must always be `Vidheya’ towards her Bharta, their parents, and Teacher…

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे त्य्रुत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (२८व श्लोक) Similar to how Lord Indra prostrates to Bruhaspati, ShriRaama prostrated before Vasishtha, His purohita, who was shining with eternal radiance. ShriRaama then humbly sat beside Vasishtha.

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे द्व्युत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (१२व श्लोकमु) On hearing the terrible news of the death of His father, ShriRaama fell on the ground weeping with grief. After regaining consciousness, He spoke this shloka: “Now that my father passed away, on returning to Ayodhya from the exile, who will rule me and guide me by providing dharmic advices?”   This…

— श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे त्रिंशस्सर्गः (३३) ShriRaam says to SeetaDevi, “How can a person realize the unknown God, if he does not even respect his own mother, father and teacher, who are visible forms of God?”.
