श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अरण्यकाण्डे एकादशस्सर्गः (३४व श्लोकमु) Describing His strong desire of serving the great Agastya maharshi, ShriRaama spoke the above shloka to Suteekshna maharshi.  We are indeed fortunate to be born in India, where maharshi’s like Agastya were born.

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अरण्यकाण्डे अष्टमस्सर्गः (६व श्लोकमु) While taking leave from Suteekshna maharshi, ShriRaama spoke this beautiful verse: “O great Sage! We are indeed very eager and longing to have darshan of all punya-aashrams of maharshis living in Dandakaranyam. (hence please allow us to take leave)”. We must inculcate the interest and habit for having darshan of…

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे षोडशोत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (२६ श्लोक) This shloka means that even for a minute, ShriRaama could not stay (in Chitrakoot) without the Rushis and likewise Rushis could not spend a moment without remembering ShriRaama. Irrespective of which Varna-Ashrama we belong to, we should also, like the rushis, always remember God.

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे पञ्चदशोत्तरशततमस्सर्गः (१२ श्लोक) “Bharata travelled to Nandigrama while carrying ShriRaama’s Paadukas on his head.” This shloka illustrates the love and bhakti Bharata had towards His brother (who was also His Guru). More importantly, like Bharata, we should always keep God on our head (in our mind) and follow His instructions (dharma).

श्रीमद्रामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे पञ्चाशीतितमस्सर्गः (१९-२० श्लोकौ) Valmiki maharshi speaks this beautiful shloka describing the state of immense grief that Bharata is having because of being away from ShriRama: “Bharata’s grief is comparable to a huge mountain where the boulders are His RamaDhyanam, various minerals/metals are His deep sighs,  the trees are His Humility/Dainyam, peaks are His…

–श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे अष्टसप्ततितमस्सर्गः (२३ श्लोक) Once, amused by her own wits, Kubja decorated herself with ornaments and roamed around the palace with the joy of sending ShriRaama to exile. Shatrughna saw her and pulled her to Bharat demanding punishment for her. Then Bharata spoke these priceless words: “(For causing terrible grief to so many people)…

–श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे अष्टसप्ततितमस्सर्गः (२२ श्लोक) Once, amused by her own wits, Kubja decorated herself with ornaments and roamed around the palace with the joy of sending ShriRaama to exile. Shatrughna saw her and pulled her to Bharat demanding punishment for her. Then Bharata spoke these priceless words: “(More than Kubja,) this Kaikeyi deserves death as…
