अक्षया नरशार्दूल! मया लोका जिताः शुभाः । ब्राह्म्याश्च नाकपृष्ठ्याश्च प्रतिगृह्णीष्व मामकान् ॥

श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अरण्यकाण्डे पञ्चमस्सर्गः (३१ श्लोक)

The great sage Sharabhanga spoke the above shloka to ShriRaama:

“ShriRaama! Because of the severe Tapas I performed, I obtained un-ending Punyams and hence divya-lokams like Brahmalokam and Swargam. I here-by offer all that Punyam earned by me to You. Please accept it”.

Through these memorable words, Sharabhanga is teaching us the real meaning of ‘Karma Sanyasam’. He performed Punya Karma (Tapas), without expecting its benefits and offered it to God.
