On reaching Nandigrama, Bharata says this beautiful shloka “After ShriRaama returns from forests I will return this kingdom and Ayodhya, which He left with me (till then I shall protect it with the grace of His sandals). Thus I shall become free of all sins”.

This shloka reveals the real meaning behind the ultimate shloka in Bhagavadgita: “सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज । .

Like Bharata, we should also perform our Dharma and then leave its fruits of success to God (pari-tyaagam) and thus become free from all sins (and thereby attain Moksha).
