श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामायणे अयोध्याकाण्डे सप्ताधिकशततमस्सर्गः (१३ श्लोक)

While teaching Bharata the important duties of progeny, ShriRaama spoke this dharmic verse:

“The learned, who understand shastras, always wish that they have(had) many good sons. This is because atleast one of them may perform Shraadha karma in Gaya and thus show their gratitude to PitruDevatas”.

This shloka told by ShriRaama, illustrating the importance of performing Shraadhams in holy places like Gaya, is indeed a memorable one.
