Bharata says to Kaikeyi “You have separated a mother (Kausalya) from her son (ShriRaama). Moreover, the mother is a great साध्वि  and ShriRaama is her only son. Hence you will not only have to suffer in this world, but also in Narakam”.

The lessons we need to learn are:

  1. Un-necessarily separating progeny from a mother is a great sin.
  2. The above applies not only to humans but also those creatures which have पुत्रेश (love for progeny). In particular, cows are well-known to have strong पुत्रेश. Hence separating a cow from its calf is even more sinful.
